The silent killer

Sugar is killing our community. 

 

Did you know sugar is technically classified as a drug? It is a dangerous concentrated sweetener. Sugar is eight more times addictive than cocaine. There is nothing more addictive on the planet than sugar. It is a refined carbohydrate that disrupts the brain areas of pleasure and self-control. It affects the chemistry of the limbic system which the part of the brain that’s associated with emotional control.

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 states that the Top Sources and Average Intakes of Added Sugars: U.S. Population Ages 1 and Older are through sugary beverages, desserts, sweet snacks and coffee.

Sugar starves the brain of oxygen, puts stress on the pancreas, kidneys, liver, and causes cellular waste to congest the soft tissue and bones. It reduces ones learning capacity, leads to a number of issues including hormonal imbalance, cancers, and other dis-eaes.
